Peanut butter hot chocolate

Finally, colder days have come  and I’m beyond excited! What’s not to love about fall and winter? All kind of pies, sweet and savory (mostly sweet to be honest!) and hot chocolate! Hot chocolate is a beautiful thing… Vast flavor combinations, exotic, fall inspired, skinny or nice fatty and slightly thick are my kind of thing.

Recently,I had a strange desire to eat peanuts, something very uncommon for me and to be more specific I was craving for peanut butter and chocolate. For a person who dislikes peanut butter is weird.

When I saw the first strong wind and the dark clouds making their appearance I had to make hot chocolate. Is a habit I got from my childhood, even though we were making hot cocoa and not hot chocolate. The difference between these two is simple. The first one (hot cocoa) is made out of cocoa powder exclusively whereas hot chocolate is made out of chocolate. Today,I present you a tweaked version of the recipe I was taught at culinary school.

Enjoy  my rich, luscious peanut butter hot chocolate, topped with smooth creamy whipped cream and drizzled with some extra peanut butter. Trust me,it’s not overwhelming. Is that rich enough? I hope you can’t get enough of it!

Yields: 4 cups   Cooking time: 5 minutes     Difficulty: easy

  • 1 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon espresso powder or instant coffee( This is optional, but it’ll enhance the chocolate flavor!)
  • 7 oz dark chocolate ( 70%,chopped) or chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter(or any other nut butter)

  1. In a medium saucepan oven medium heat, whisk together whole milk, heavy cream, powdered sugar and coffee, until small babbles appear around edges. Do not allow mixture to boil.
  2. Remove saucepan from heat, add peanut butter and chopped chocolate until melted, returning the sauce to low heat if needed for the chocolate to melt completely. Serve warm, topped with lots of whipped cream and drizzled some caramel sauce on top!

Nutella Latte

nutella coffee latteWeather is getting colder and we all need a cup of warm coffee to wake us up! I am one of these people who love coffee in desserts, sauces (both savory and sweet) and sometimes like a meat rub. It’s superb!

Toaday,we are going to level up our coffee and add some Nutella. That delicious chocolaty, rich and luscious spread that is been loved for many and hated by few. What’s better than adding Nutella in your coffee!Hm? Beautiful frothy nutella coffee latte!

Peach Lemonade ice tea

peach iced tea

Summer in Las Vegas is very hot and some times unbearable! After 4 years, living in Las Vegas,I still can’t tolerate the summer heat, neither can my daughter. We both love cold and rain, stepping in the paddles of water and playing on the rain.

One thing I love about summer in Las Vegas, though,is the abundance of fruits of any kind! But I always choose those I am familiar with and take me straight back to my childhood! Juicy, fragrant peaches and cold lemonade! I recently found an easy recipe for peach lemonade from Passion for savings and I said that I had to try it! I add lemon and garnish it with mint leaves and  I created a Peach lemonade ice tea. So refreshing and herbaceous!
